Right now the user has to go to its settings manually to see what's new. Perhaps you could make a linked text in the title screen left bottom corner?

Such as "3 mod updates" and clicking that would open the main view. That could also aid some modpacks that may not include Mod Menu at all (but updates could still fix some bugs and whatnot).

Alternatively, some kind of integration with Mod Menu as detailed here.
